Dolphin Motel - Paihia

We explored the Bay of Islands on a dolphin watching cruise, and also hiked to Russell for fine views. The new rooms were comfy, and the staff was super friendly. We appreciated the early check-in and that parking was available, a rarity in this area.

The only downside was some temperature issues with the shower. It was tough to get the right setting, and water spilled over making the floor slippery.

The location turned out to be marvellous, not far from shops and bar and sea front, the beautiful Bay and main Paihia. Had tea and goodies at Letz Cafe, nestled 1 km of the hotel.

A lounge area and a sofa available in the studio suite. Good services, GOOD-sized bathroom. Quiet atmosphere all around, incredible and amazing location very close to city centre, and shops and restaurants.

Consider requesting a room away from the stairwell to ensure a quieter stay.

The rooms with walk in shower and great balcony, for example. With a microwave, an electric kettle and a fridge. Favourable location, short way from everywhere.

I stayed in this extremely comfy hotel for 2 days, had lovely experience, truly enjoyed its fantastic location right by shops and waterfront as well as all the shops and bar and sea front. The atmosphere created was quiet: )

Paihia vibes and good times 🌊

Lekker comfy room with a balcony for a sundowner and chillin'. Location is sharp-sharp, close to shops and the wharf-easy stroll. Good WiFi made it easy to binge some shows on Netflix!

Friendly service, really nice room, very clean and had a nice vibe to the place. All up had a really nice time.

The comfy bed. The owner was most obliging and friendly during our overnight stay.

The proximaty to the waterfront, level walking distance, In a sunny position.

Dated furniture and towels changed every second day.

Initial over-charging

The staff were very lovely and helpful.

Unfortunately, the room we stayed in was quite dated and showed significant signs of wear and tear. For example, the bathroom had temperature fluctuations in the shower that were not only concerning but also was great. The towels provided were frayed and much smaller than expected, leaving us feeling quite unsatisfied with the amenities .

Excellent manager Paul, very nice, kind and helpful! Handy location, convenient but quiet with free wi-fi on reasonable price, good!

Upstairs plumbing is too loud.
